The number of bits – 40-bit, 56-bit, 128-bit and 256-bit – determines the size of the key. The larger key has more possible encryption combinations that can be changed frequently. The specific protocol judges the aspects of encryption strength. Server certificate enables 128- bit and 256-bit encryption for over 99.9% of internet users. The next https session will have another session key.
Why does the client need a unique IP Address for the domain to be secure?
A website with an SSL certificate must have a unique IP address on the web host server as an SSL or a server certificate is linked only to an IP address and is bound to a qualified domain name, no matter which domain the client attempts to access.
