Following on from the success of the last two videos, today we're going to talk about how you can tell how many people are actually with the same host and provider as you.
So this is important to make sure that you're not with someone who's selling to dozens or hundreds of people. You want to make sure they're only a couple of people or only a few people to keep your website real quick.
You don't want to be paying a crazy price to something and then have a crazy slow speed because your website visitors will just jump over to your competitor. There's a website called yougetsignal.com and there's a tool on the left-hand sidebar called reverse I.P. lookup.

Now what you can do is you can type in the name of your website and you can click the go button. What it does is it actually shows you anyone else that has hosting with you as well. That can be potential competitors or it could be hundreds of other businesses.
This is a good idea to do this because you can see how many people are on that same server. You can also just note down a couple of different websites that are on there and if your website goes down, you can look them up and see if their website has gone down as well.
If they've gone down and you've gone down, there's a good chance that there's a problem with your hosting provider it has nothing to do with you.
Then you get on the blower and work out what they're doing. They need to get their act together.
Handy tip. Yougetsignal.com.
