Burnout is a very serious matter for a lot of business owners. People get into business to get out of a nine to five, but a lot of the time, what happens is they find that instead of working a nine to five, they're working a 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM, a five to nine. They don't get to see their family as much. They don't get to spend as much time at the things they were doing before, but as long as you're passionate about what you're doing, you continue to tell yourself that this isn't work, this is fun. That's perfectly fine, but everyone knows that you can't have the good days without the bad days.

When I became single, I decided it was time to get fit. Being the geek that I am, I had to get some sort of gadget to help. So, I bought one of those fitness bands, you know, the ones that count your steps. At the end of the first day, I'd run off my feet at work, but I still only managed to get to 3000 steps. Which is much better than the thousand that I would normally get if I was just sitting at the computer, but either way, it didn't seem like a whole lot to me.

I've been asked today to talk about the pros and cons of a flexible work environment. While working from home might mean fewer distractions, people can get lonely and it can lead to spending long periods of time online. Working from home requires a certain level of discipline. I would say you need to have a balance between working from home life and your social life. I know myself when I was in a relationship with someone that did work standard hours and I was in a flexible work environment, I was sometimes seeing people and sometimes I wasn't.
