In today’s world, there is a lot of talk about work-life balance, and many people are trying to find ways to achieve it. Josh spoke with Linda Joy Benn about how to maintain balance in life and some tools that can be used to achieve it.

Meditation Meditation Meditation
Meditation is one of the most popular methods used to achieve work-life balance. There are different types of meditation, and it is essential to find the one that works best for you. You can meditate while walking or by focusing on a sunset or a sunrise. One does not necessarily have to sit cross-legged on a cushion to meditate.

Listen to Yourself
Take time out of your day to go within and listen to yourself. Even just sitting and breathing, counting your breath or counting your inhale and exhale, can help you meditate. The four square breathing technique is one of the best ways to relax yourself. This method is as follows: you breathe in for four, hold for four, breathe out for four, and rest for four. This technique rebalances the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, calms your whole nervous system and body down, and puts you in a relaxed state.
Workplace Pressure
There’s a lot of pressure in today’s workplace, where people go from one meeting to another, meet deadlines, and deal with KPIs and shareholders’ expectations. In such situations, it is essential to self-regulate, build resilience and become aware of stress levels. It’s so important to take time out of your day to nurture yourself and take responsibility for your mental health and well-being.
Turn your IT into a utility so you can have more time for more important things.
Find What Works for You
It’s everyone’s responsibility to find a practice that works for them, be it meditation, yoga, prayer, or any other form of relaxation. For example, prayer is a form of meditation that many people use to relax and take time out of their busy lives. Remember clear boundaries are essential to achieving work-life balance. Communicate with your work colleagues, customers, and family to establish clear boundaries on your work hours and family time. Clear boundaries help you say no to others and say yes to yourself, which is essential for self-care.
Connect with Your Loved Ones
Connecting with loved ones and creating meaningful rituals is so important. Try having meals together without phones and sharing highlights of the day. My definition of positive well-being is feeling peace and love in one’s heart and being excited for life’s adventures. Finding work that brings joy and fulfillment is extremely important too, and not staying in a job that makes you miserable.

Measure Your Wellbeing
You need to maintain balance and recognise wake-up calls, such as physical health concerns, as indicators that life may be out of balance. Setting boundaries and learning to say no to negative influences will change your life. Cutting people out can be difficult but necessary for personal well-being.
Work-life balance is not about having an equal amount of time for work and personal life but rather finding the right balance that works for the individual. Recognising when our well-being is not in check is also a must, and we need to make changes in our life to avoid burnout. Business built freedom to me is waking up every day, working on your passion that excites you, and making an impact in the world.
