3 Awesome Benefits of Renewable Energy Projects
The Hoover Dam produces an average of 4 billion kilowatt-hours per year in hydroelectric power. That’s enough to run entire countries like Jamaica or Botswana, and recent reports coming out of Australia is that we’re actually exceeding our targets for renewable energy.
70% Renewable Energy
After signing the Paris Agreement in 2015, we thought it wouldn’t reach the level we agreed so we changed the goalposts. However, we were being too pessimistic, and we’re currently at about 70% renewable. That will rise to 90% as the wind and solar projects that began in 2016 come online.
Other Benefits of Renewable Energy
Even if we forget about the environmental side, I think this is great for business. Firstly, we’re creating new industries that will invest heavily in technology and research. Secondly, as they become more efficient, we all get cheaper power. That power is totally unlimited. We just need to get better at harnessing it.
The Final Word
Blockchain technology has so many potential uses, and its only limit is that it uses so much power. As electricity prices come down, the sky is the limit for what we can achieve.
